Aqua Terra Steak + Sushi Introduces the Mak-n-Jax Milkshake Bar, Benefiting Salt Lake Education Foundation
As an Ascend Hospitality Group (AHG) restaurant, Aqua Terra is committed to elevating the local community it serves, investing wholly in both team members and guests to take service to the next level. Through AHG Cares, the philanthropic arm of the company, Aqua Terra has relaunched the Mak-n-Jax’s Milkshake Bar as a community-focused initiative, in which $1 from each milkshake sold will be donated to a featured nonprofit partner. The team at Aqua Terra selected the Salt Lake Education Foundation (SLEF) as the inaugural beneficiary.
Naming the Milkshake Bar for her children —Makena & Jaxon — AHG CEO and President, Elaina Morris, has a personal and professional commitment to connecting with the communities where AHG restaurants reside.
“When we land AHG in a new market and city, we land a philosophy — we’re not just a restaurant, we are grounded in service to the communities in which we operate,” said Morris. “We’re launching this AHG Cares initiative to do just that. Our lane is education and is important to us as a company — we believe the future of our people is the future of our company. We believe we are fully aligned with SLEF and share its desire to do our part to help strengthen the educational opportunities of students in the area.”
The Salt Lake Education Foundation supports every student in the Salt Lake City School District, helping ensure they achieve their goals in and out of the classroom; and relies on the community’s support to help students.
AQUA TERRA is part of the Stanford’s Family of Brands, including Stanford’s and Stanford’s Steak, all operated by Ascend Hospitality Group (AHG). AHG is a Black-and-female-led, independent restaurant group based in Bellevue, Washington.
